Alejandro Armendáriz

He was born in Saladillo June 5 of 1923. Course the primary in the School No.1. Graduated from High School in the "Colegio San José" in Buenos Aires in 1941. 
The following year he entered in the Faculty of Medicine of the UBA. In 1947 were practitioner in the Penna Hospital, and the following year in the Hospital Juan Fernández, where in 1949 was designated greater practitioner. 

In July of that same year graduated as doctor. In 1950 returned to his native town to settle as a doctor and he became part of the staff of Hospital Alejandro Posadas and Sanatorio Saladillo. He begins their professional activity, and at the same time, he developed an active participation in the political and social life of Saladillo. So then in 1951, with a group of old friends, he found a sport club with the intention of providing of a swimming pool for the practice of the swimming in the urban zone. In this way are born the Club Estudiantes in the corner of San Martín and J.B. González. In that same year he was elected Vice-president of the local UCR party of the Social Club. Latest he met in full reconstruction of the building. In 1954 was elected county commissioner, but the intervention of the municipality truncates his term. In 1955 was elected President of the Social Club and in 1957 President of the local committee of the UCR. In 1958 was candidate losing the election for mayor for 300 votes. In 1960 consent the presidency of the Club Estudiantes. In 1963 was elected provincial conventional of the UCR and he occupy the Secretary in the directive board. Two years later lead the list of Provincial Deputies for the UCR of the Town and arrive to the Honorable Camera to become president of the Commission of Agrarian Matters. This term was interrupted for the blow of June 28 of 1966. In 1969 is elected Manager of the Sanatorio Saladillo proposed and succeeded in transforming the entity in an Anonymous Society with the name of Saladillo Clinic and the incorporation of a great numbers of professionals. He became President of the Board of Directors and resolved the reconstruction and amplification of the building, and the incorporation of a new team of x-rays. In 1972 composed the group that with Raúl Alfonsin to the head, form the Movement of Renovation and Change. It was candidate to Governor for this internal line and lost the provincial election for 4,000 votes. Subsequently dispute with Juan C. Pugliese the presidency of the Provincial Committee of the UCR and upon being lost incorporates as member to said committee. In 1980 consent again to the presidency of the Club Estudiantes, period in which are constructed the new swimming pool, In 1983 is elected candidate to Governor and October 30 is consecrated in the urns. Among his most important actions should mention the creation of the judicial departments of Quilmes, Zarate- Campana and Necochea. Establishment of the Oral Judgement in the criminal, Advice of Prevention of the Crime, increment of 6,000 men in the Police. Designation of 24,000 educational. Construction of more than 560 schools and kindergarten and repair of buildings for the system of consortiums, that allowed increment in 3,400 the number of classrooms. Continuation of the Central Termoeléctrica of Bahía Blanca, carrying the execution of the 40% at 80% of the total work. Conclusion and inauguration of the two administrative towers of La Plata.

He concluded his term in 1987, delivering the government to Dr. Antonio Cafiero.

Now he live with his wife, Olga Guillermina Gaddi, together they have two children and seven grandchildren, and is overcoming a grave suffering accident in 1997, that cost him several surgical interventions.
